MGI | Commonwealth Centenary Pro-Am

In 2020, Commonwealth Golf Club celebrates its Centenary, and the club will be celebrating this incredible milestone of 100 years with members and the wider golfing community throughout the year.

One of the main Centenary events was the MGI Pro-Am Tournament held on Monday 10th February 2020. MGI & Sureshot had the pleasure of being the principal naming rights partner for this event. Roughly 40 of the 60 PGA Professionals who attended the event had 2020 Tour cards, with 5 European Tour Players participating on the day, including the 2019 New Zealand Open Winner Zach Murray & 2020 Omega Dubai Desert Classic winner Lucas Herbert. Also on display were some high-calibre media personalities from professional sports backgrounds including MGI motorised buggy users Sam Groth (tennis), Dale Thomas & Bernie Vince (AFL).

The format of the event was a 4 Ball Better Ball Stableford. The weather was a little challenging with gusty winds for most of the day and light showers in the morning, but that didn't stop the low scores. Jarryd Felton won the Pro-Am with a round score of -3 par. It was a hard-fought victory with two 5-way playoff holes having to decide who took home the title. A congratulations to Lucian Tinkler as well, who won the Legends section with a round score of +2 par.

MGI & Sureshot would like to thank Commonwealth Golf Club and it's members and players on the day and look forward to the rest of the Centenary celebrations in 2020.
