If I am not using my buggy/ battery what should I do?

Lithium ion batteries (Li-ion) should not be stored for long periods of time, either uncharged or fully charged. The best storage method is to store them at a low temperature, not below 0°C, at 40-50% capacity. Storage at 5°C to 10°C is ideal. Since lithium batteries self-discharge, it is recommended that they must be recharged and used again until drained to 40-50%, every 6 months.

HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MY LITHIUM BATTERY?

Your lithium battery leads, casing and connections should be regularly inspected for damage and wear.
If your leads or connections are in need of repair or replacement, please contact your local MGI repair centre for assistance immediately.

Under no circumstances should a Lithium Battery that has been dropped, damaged or immersed in water be connected to a buggy or charger. By doing so you may create a fire hazard or risk the battery catching fire. Please contact the MGI Service Centre to arrange a replacement.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY BUGGY LITHIUM BATTERY HAS BEEN IMMERSED IN WATER?
Under no circumstances should a Lithium Battery that has been immersed in water be connected to a buggy or charger. By doing so you may create a fire hazard or risk the battery catching fire.  Please contact the MGI Service Centre to arrange a replacement.
How do I know if my Lithium battery is charging correctly?
The Green LED illuminates to indicate the charger is powered on. The Red LED indicates the battery is charging. The LED will turn Green when the battery is fully charged and on float charge.
Which charger is suitable for my buggy? Will my old charger work on my new battery?/ Will SLA work with Lithium?
  • Please check volt rating on your battery.
  • The charger needs to be matched to its respective battery
    • 12v SLA battery with 12v SLA charger.
    • 12v Lithium battery with 12v Lithium charger.
    • 24v Lithium battery with 24v Lithium charger.
Which battery is suitable for my buggy?
Please use our ‘battery wizard’ to assist choosing a battery for your unit.
Do I need to charge my new battery?
Charge your new battery for at least 8 hours or overnight before use.
Does my battery require maintenance?
  • Lithium & SLA batteries are virtually maintenance free.
  • On SLA batteries check connections & tighten when necessary.
  • Wipe with a damp cloth to clean.
Do I leave my battery on charge?

It is recommended to be left on charge when not in use as the charger is a digital smart charger & will switch to power saving mode when required.

There is no battery indication displayed on my top box.
Unfortunately with the larger capacity battery the battery indication on your top box is now not visible when fully charged. However, after a number of holes the battery indication will appear. It will show a maximum battery capacity reading. It will then operate as normal.
