This Privacy Statement forms part of our terms and conditions for use of this website. Your privacy is important to MGI Golf Pty Ltd (ABN 59 006 140 101). This Privacy Policy provides information about the personal information that MGI Golf collects and the ways in which MGI Golf, hold and disclose this personal information. From this point forth, MGI Golf Pty Ltd will be referred to as "MGI".

Please read this Privacy Statement carefully. The purpose of this Statement is to inform you about our collection and use of personal information so that you can make informed choices about how your own information is collected and used.

MGI is committed to maintaining the privacy and accuracy of your personal information and to protecting information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration and destruction.
MGI complies with the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988 in relation to the management of personal information.
This Privacy Statement applies to your use of the website of MGI at www.mgigolf.com
This includes utilising any of our facilities via this website.

DATA INFORMATION COLLECTED

When you use our website, our Internet Service Provider (”ISP”) will record and log for statistical purposes the following information about your visit:

  • your server address and top-level domain name (eg. .com, .gov, etc),
  • the date and time of your visit,
  • when entering from another website, the address of that website,
  • the pages and documents you access during your visit, and
  • the type of browser you are using.

This information is collected through the use of “cookies” (see below).
We will not attempt to identify individual users and we will not collect personal information unless you provide it to us.
If you request information or provide feedback about any of our products or services you will be asked to provide contact details and a mailing address.
We do not collect information about political or religious beliefs, ethnic background or sexual preferences.

The personal information which MGI collect and hold includes:

  • your name, age, billing and/or shipping address, email address, gender, occupation, telephone number(s), credit card information & product ownership history
OPT-OUT/UNSUBSCRIBE

You can easily unsubscribe at any time you want to our communications by contacting us or by following the instructions contained in our e-mail communications.

It may take some time to put an opt-out or an unsubscribe in effect so you may still receive communications from us for several weeks after your request is received.

For the avoidance of doubt, by opting–out or unsubscribing yourself from a mailing list of an MGI product or service this will ensure your removal from that particular mailing list but will not guarantee your removal from other mailing lists that MGI may store your details in as a result of your engagement with a different service or product.

INFORMATION FROM THIRD PARTIES

During the course of business, the MGI may also collect personal information that is given to them by a third party (for example, a corporate partner of MGI or information that is on a publicly maintained record). This information forms part of the personal information described in this Privacy Policy. MGI will not intentionally solicit personal information that is unintentionally disclosed.

The information we collect is subject to this Privacy Policy. However, the information collected and stored by the third party remains subject to the third-party's privacy practices, including whether the third party continues to share information with us or with other third parties, the types of information shared, and your choices with regard to what is visible to others on that third party's website or service. The third party may allow you to remove the application or feature, in which case we will no longer collect information about you through the application or feature, but we may retain the information previously collected. In addition, we may receive information about you if other users of a third-party website or service give us access to their profiles and you are one of their "connections" or information about you is otherwise accessible through your "connections'" web page, profile page, or similar page on a social networking or other third-party website or interactive service.

Wherever reasonably practicable, MGI will store personal information on data servers that are owned and controlled by MGI and are located within the geographical borders of Australia.

From providing your details, you agree to the disclosure and use of such personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy, and consent to its disclosure overseas and its use by third parties, including our service providers and such other countries in which those parties or their computer systems may be located from time to time, where it may be used solely for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, without us being responsible for such use (or for any breach).  Where MGI use cloud computing services we will use our reasonable endeavours to ensure that such disclosures are in compliance with Australian privacy laws.

USE AND DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION

Our goal is to use the information you provide to better understand your requirements and provide information to you on products and services that are most relevant to you. MGI will hold, use and disclose your personal information for purposes including, without limitation:

  • to verify your identity;
  • to improve MGI Online;
  • to facilitate community competitions and programs;
  • to provide, and to assist us with providing products and services to you, to manage and account for the products and services, and to improve the products and services;
  • to manage MGI relationship(s) with you;
  • to provide you with information about events, products and/or services that may interest you;
  • to facilitate the internal business operations of MGI;
  • to promote and market MGI events, products or services;
  • to undertake research;
  • to enable corporate partners and sponsors of MGI, including MGI Clubs and the MGI’s digital rights partner Telstra, as well as their related bodies corporate, to market and promote their products and services to you; and
  • to provide to our third-party service providers in connection with any of the above.

Unless you have instructed us not to do so, personal information may be shared within MGI and to third parties who provide us with certain services. These third parties are required to keep your information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we are permitted to use it.
MGI undertakes not to disclose, sell, rent or trade your personal information. We are obliged however to allow law enforcement agencies and other government agencies with the relevant legal authority to inspect our ISP logs if there is an investigation.
Personal information you have provided along with your particular request for information could be forwarded to our head office for follow up of your request by mail, email or telephone.
Information may be used by MGI for marketing and product analysis. This may include the forwarding of publications and information about special offers, new products or competitions to you by post or by email.

At MGI our goal is to ensure that your personal information is accurate, complete and up-to-date. Please Contact Us if personal information we hold about you is incorrect or has changed and we will use all reasonable efforts to update the information.

You agree to the disclosure and use of such personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy, and consent to its disclosure overseas and its use by third parties, including our service providers, in the USA, Gibraltar, China and such other countries in which those parties or their computer systems may be located from time to time, where it may be used solely for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, without us being responsible for such use (or for any breach).  Where the MGI and MGI Clubs use cloud computing services we will use our reasonable endeavours to ensure that such disclosures are in compliance with Australian privacy laws.

Should you wish to have access to the personal information we hold about you, please contact us. A fee may apply to such access. Access will be limited to the information you have provided.

COOKIES

A “cookie” is a device that allows our server to identify and interact more effectively with your computer. Cookies do not identify individual users, but they do identify your ISP and your browser type.
This website uses temporary cookies. This means that upon closing your browser, the temporary cookie assigned to you will be destroyed and no personal information is maintained which might identify you at a later date.
We do not disclose domain names or aggregate information to third parties other than to those who assist us with this website and who are under strict confidentiality obligations.

In the event of any loss, or unauthorised access or disclosure of your personal information that is likely to result in serious harm to you, the MGI and/or MGI Clubs will investigate and notify you and the Australian Information Commissioner as soon as practicable, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
